• FirstGov Reference Center - a great starting point for legal and statistical information.
• Fedstats - intended to be a portal to statistics maintained by federal agencies FedStats provides information for Federal agencies reporting expenditures of at least $500,000 per year in various statistical activities.
• The CIA World Factbook - Quick reference for statistical information on countries.
• Nationmaster - This site compiles national statistics and creates graphical representations by combining information from multiple sources (including CIA World Factbook). Definitely worth a look if you're comparing countries.

• LOC guide to law online - annotated guide to sources of information on government and law available online from the Law Library of Congress. Here is their page on Michigan Law.
• US Government Printing Office - Here you can access the Budget of the United States Government,a Compilation of Presidential Documents, Congressional Bills, Congressional Documents, Congressional Hearings, the Congressional Record, Congressional Reports, the Federal Register, Public and Private Laws, etc.
